Redemption & Journey
Mike Thomas Wiggins does not ask you to forget his past. He asks you to witness what a man can become when he chooses accountability over excuses — every single day for nearly four decades.
"I'm not asking for sympathy. I'm asking for the same thing I've been earning every day since 1987 — the chance to show who I am now."
— Mike Thomas Wiggins
At 24, Mike made choices that caused real harm to another person. He was convicted of aggravated sexual assault in Dallas, Texas. He does not minimize this. He does not run from it. It is where his story of accountability begins — and where he made a decision that would define the next four decades of his life.
Rather than hardening, Mike chose to confront his actions honestly. He pursued education, earned certifications in finance and property management, and began the long, unglamorous work of becoming a better man — one day at a time, inside a cell.
Mike studied real estate investment, market analysis, and financial literacy inside prison walls — building a foundation that most free men never acquire. Knowledge became his most valuable asset and his most powerful form of preparation.
After 19 years, Mike walked out of prison not as a broken man, but as a prepared one. He carried no illusions about the road ahead — only a clear-eyed commitment to building something real and giving back more than he took.
Mike now operates ethical real estate investments, runs a halfway house, mentors ex-felons, rescues animals, and speaks to audiences across the country. He does not hide his past — he uses it as the most honest credential he has.

The Blue-Collar Way
Mike didn’t inherit wealth or connections. Every initiative, every property, every program was built with his own hands, his own resources, and his own relentless drive. That’s not a limitation — that’s a credential.
Zero outside funding — self-financed from day one
Every property acquired through earned capital
Every program built from personal experience, not theory
No political endorsements or institutional backing
Accountable only to the community he serves
Animal Rescue
Mike’s commitment to second chances doesn’t stop with people. He has extended that same philosophy to the animals of Omaha — rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming animals that others have abandoned.

Voices from the Community
Reputation isn't built in press releases. It's built in the lives of the people you've actually touched.
"Mike didn't just give me a place to stay. He gave me a reason to stay on the right path. I've been out three years now, employed, and I'm about to sign on my first apartment. That's Mike's work."
D. Harmon
Halfway House Resident, 2021
"I've seen a lot of people come through this community talking about change. Mike is the only one I've seen actually do it — with his own money, his own time, and no cameras following him around."
Community Member
North Omaha Resident
"He came to speak to our students and the room was completely silent. These are kids who tune out every adult in their lives. Mike had them leaning forward. His story is that real."
T. Williams
Omaha Youth Program Coordinator
"When my dog got loose and ended up injured, Mike was the one who found her, got her to a vet, and called me. He didn't have to do any of that. That's just who he is."
S. Morales
Omaha Resident
"I was skeptical at first. A man with his record running a mentorship program? But I watched him work. He's the most accountable person in any room he walks into. That's rare."

Ethical Real Estate Investment
Mike's approach to real estate is simple: every investment should make the neighborhood better, not just his balance sheet. That's not idealism — it's sustainable strategy.
Mike only invests in properties that improve the neighborhoods they're in. No predatory flipping, no displacement — just quality housing that creates stability for Omaha families.
Fair rents, responsive maintenance, and treating tenants as partners rather than revenue sources. Mike's properties have waiting lists because his reputation is built on integrity.
Mike teaches the financial principles he mastered during incarceration — credit building, leverage, cash flow analysis — to anyone who wants to learn, free of charge.
Specializing in properties that others have written off, Mike sees potential where others see problems — turning blight into assets that serve the community for generations.
"I learned more about real estate in a prison library than most people learn in a business school. And I learned it because I was going to use it the moment I got out."
— Mike Thomas Wiggins
Philanthropy
For Mike, philanthropy isn't a PR strategy or a tax benefit. It's a moral obligation — the natural extension of a life that was saved by the grace of second chances.

"The measure of a man is not what he accumulates — it's what he gives back. I was given a second chance. My job is to make sure others get theirs."
— Mike Thomas Wiggins
